Mera Foster is an 18-year-old artist based in Tacoma, WA.

She is a recipient of more than 30 art awards (from local to international) and has been selling her work since middle school. She has been passionate about the arts for her entire life, but began a more serious fine arts practice during the COVID-19 lockdown, when at 13 she began her art career doing commissioned portraits. Mera's style is driven by an exploration of femininity, women and eating disorders, memory, nostalgia, and objects of sentimental value. Her work is both direct in its hyperreal style and ambiguous with its variety of cryptic symbols and bold color palettes. She enjoys studying these themes by including symbols allegorical to her own life as well as by looking to history and art history for compositional and philosophical guidance. She aims to make art and personal expression accessible through the sale of original work and lively printed products.
